Storage and Handling of Artificial Hedging

After placing an order with us, knowing what to expect before your order arrives is helpful. Including the best practices for the storage and handling of artificial hedging products. Below is a handy guide for the best storage and handling of artificial hedge tiles and pre-made hedges before and during your installation process. Following these storage and handling steps will help ensure your order remains in the best condition, avoiding damage.

Storage and Handling Must dos for the artificial hedge tiles:

• When storing outside, keep it raised off the ground. Ideally, in a shed or garage space where it is dry and clean. This will help to avoid damaging the packaging.
• Check your products before binning the packaging – you will need this if you wish to return any.
• Do not stack artificial hedge tiles in boxes more than three boxes high. Each tile weighs approximately 0.60kg there is on average 12-16 tiles in a box.
• When installing the artificial hedging tiles allow them time out of the box on a flat surface to ‘breath’. The foliage needs up to 24 hours to loosen after being packed down into a box.
• When installing the tiles, handle them carefully. As not doing so could cause some foliage to dislodge. If any foliage comes off, push it back onto the prongs that protrude from the plastic mesh backing.

Storage and Handling Must dos for the artificial pre-made hedges:

• We will either deliver the hedges bound together on a pallet or individually boxed, depending on the number of hedges you ordered. Please note this is the same for if you have ordered any of the troughs/bases too.
• There will need to be someone to help the driver unload the pre-made hedges and take receipt for them. If you or someone is not there to assist, your order may not be delivered.
• After offloading, please inspect the hedges and bases (if also ordered) for any damage. If you notice any damage, notify us immediately. Additionally, retain all packaging materials in which the items were packaged.
• When moving the pre-made hedges, move them one at a time. Depending on the size you ordered, you may need help.
• The hedges on their own without troughs are relatively lightweight.
• When storing them please keep on a level surface, covered until you are ready to install/position them.
• Hold the hedges by the metal framework, not the hedge tiles or foliage, when lifting them. Failure to do so could result in you damaging them.
• Do not reset anything on the hedges, as this could, over time, cause the foliage tiles to stretch.
