Our satin spigot glass balustrade system holds toughened glass on square, brushed 316 marine-grade stainless steel spigots — the frameless appearance of our spigot range with the classic look of bare stainless steel. The brushed finish pairs naturally with timber, stone and traditional brickwork, and because the steel itself is the corrosion barrier, it's a long-standing favourite for coastal and poolside installations.
The system is identical to our black spigot glass balustrade system in every structural respect — the same 316 steel, square spigots with oval base plates and covers, two spigots per pane with panes up to 1100mm wide, and glass cut to order in 12mm or 15mm toughened, or 17.5mm and 21.5mm toughened laminated depending on your fall height and rail choice. The only difference is the look: brushed steel here, matt powder-coated black there.
Glass is made to order — around 3–4 weeks for custom sizes, 3–10 days for stocked panes, with deliveries scheduled in advance for safe offloading. Fixing bolts are supplied separately to suit your substrate. Send your measurements through the quote form or call 01282 526428 for your layout and glass specification.

All components are designed to suit glass panels between 10mm and 21.5mm thick. This includes monolithic, toughened, and laminated glass, depending on the installation’s structural requirements.
Yes. Every part is manufactured from marine-grade 316 stainless steel, offering excellent resistance to corrosion, salt exposure, and UV degradation. Both the Satin and Black powder-coated finishes are tested for outdoor use.
Absolutely. The system meets the performance and durability standards required for domestic, public, and light commercial installations, including balconies, terraces, and stair balustrades.
No specialist tools are required. A standard Allen key set, torque wrench, level, and drill are sufficient. Always follow torque specifications provided in the installation guide to prevent over-tightening.
Clean regularly with warm soapy water and a microfiber cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive pads. For coastal locations, a periodic rinse with fresh water helps maintain surface integrity and appearance.
We recommend using components from the same hardware collection (Black or Satin) to ensure proper fit and load performance. Mixing brands may affect alignment and warranty coverage.
Typically, two spigots per 1,000 mm panel are recommended for standard installations. For taller or wind-exposed balustrades, consult engineering guidelines or local building codes.
Only the finish varies — both use identical 316-grade stainless steel construction. Satin provides a brushed metallic look, while Black features a powder-coated matte surface for a modern aesthetic.
Yes. The adjustable spigot and stiffener designs allow for fine alignment after the
glass is in place. You can slightly reposition or level the panels by loosening the clamp and re-torquing it using a calibrated wrench to ensure correct
positioning and even load distribution.
Yes. When installed according to The Outdoor Look guidelines, all fittings and systems meet or exceed relevant UK standards for balustrade load performance and safety.
Each full kit includes spigots, cover plates, and accessories required for installation. Fixing bolts are not included and need to be purchased separately. The kit is designed for compatibility with 10–21.5mm frameless glass panels.
No sealing is required for the fittings themselves. However, silicone edge protection may be used between the glass and stainless-steel hardware in high-exposure environments for added vibration damping.
Only the finish. Both use the same square 316 marine-grade stainless steel spigots — satin is the bare brushed steel, black is powder-coated over the same steel. Structural performance, glass options and corrosion resistance are identical, so choose on looks: brushed steel reads classic and pairs with natural materials; black reads contemporary and matches dark-framed glazing.
Yes — 316 is the marine grade, specified precisely for salt-air and poolside environments. An occasional wash-down to remove salt deposits keeps the brushed finish looking its best in coastal settings.
Very little. An occasional clean with warm soapy water and a soft cloth (wiping along the grain of the brushing) keeps it bright; avoid abrasive pads, which can mark the finish. In coastal areas, rinse salt deposits off periodically.
The same rules as the rest of our spigot range: 12mm and 15mm toughened suit installations with a top rail or low fall heights; above a 600mm drop with no rail, toughened laminated glass is required — 17.5mm or 21.5mm depending on the setting. We confirm the specification before your glass is cut.
